Rules & Regulations

This is a sporting event based on honesty, integrity and fairness. What counts for each runner is his own performance and the knowledge that he has done his best "Participation comes before winning".

This year Bar Coding system from GCE Soft Company will be used. Every runner will have his Bar Code number on the running number.

The Barcode number will be used at the check -In point and on each "Time keeping" station.
In addition to the appointed timekeepers from the Royal Automobile Club, at each 4km marks there will be official referees from the sports federation as well as roving marshals.
Red Flags are used to indicate the 4km mark.
A committee is in charge of verifying all the observations given by the referees, time-keepers & marshals. The decisions taken by this committee will be irrevocable.

Instructions for runners:
· Some basic rules should be followed to ascertain that all participants work under the same conditions.
· On Friday morning runners must check-in to the validation desk at Safeway 7th Circle (airport road) in order to validate their numbers by Bar Coding system. If numbers are not validated, runners will be disqualified. Validation will start at 5:30 am until 6:15 am. Runners must wear their numbers before check in.
· Your number must be fixed on the front of your T-shirt from all four corners so as to be clearly visible for any passage control on the road.
· Runners must be 16 years and above to participate.
· Each runner will receive some sort of identification to prove he was at the start line.
· Relay teams must have their own support car. It must be registered and must obtain the proper identification from the organizing committee before the start of the event. The sign should be placed on the right hand side of your windshield. Please ask our office for one when you pick up your running numbers, goodie bags and T-shirts.
· Each of the relay teams will receive one scrunchie (hair band) to be worn around the left hand wrist of the runner, and should be handed over at each change of runner.
· The relays can only be done in clear view of the Time-Keepers and referees at the Red flags indicating the 4 km mark. For safety reasons support cars must stop and wait at the water station in front of the Blue Flag.
· Team runners are allowed to cover several 4km stretches in one go.
· Uncompleted distances will not qualify for ranking, medals or certificates.
· If a runner has to stop and get a lift he must hand over his number and inform any of the officials around his area. If he is a relay team runner his team will automatically be disqualified. Transportation will be provided to the end.
· No help from third parties pushing, pulling, carrying or giving a lift in any kind of vehicle is permitted.
· The closing time limit at the finishing line for all participants is 1:30 p.m. Late comers will not be considered for ranking medals or certificates.
